Thawing
It is important to use proper care when thawing your frozen steaks to ensure safety and preserve quality.
For best results, follow these steps:
DO NOT REMOVE STEAKS FROM THE AIR TIGHT PACKAGING THEY ARE SHIPPED IN.
Thaw in the refrigerator OVERNIGHT on a tray or dish.
Plan ahead. For optimal results, place steaks on a plate in your cooler a day or two in advance of when you want to use them.
THAW ON THE BOTTOM SHELF. NEVER THAW OR STORE MEAT THAT CAN DRIP OVER OTHER FOODS IN YOUR REFRIGERATOR .
Once you receive your Honey Hollow Wagyu it is perfectly safe to store it in a freezer, even if the dry ice used for shipping has evaporated. Simply thaw your steaks whenever you’re ready to cook them.
Does freezing a steak affect the taste?
Extensive research by Oklahoma State University and Kansas State University indicates that flash freezing of a steak preserves the flavor, and in fact, even the most discriminating chefs could not tell the difference.
